Watch - QuickTime (High quality / 16Mb)
Synopsis
The Star Wars saga hasn't quite come to it's end.
This, the final in the double trilogy is the final story: Friendship - a new hope.
Background
Finally, we've managed the first film of 2006. Initially a friend from 'real' work brought the Hasbro competition to our attention. As the months flew past, and we drew closer to the competition deadline, Habro moved the deadline, allowing us to give the film a damn good stab.
Stephen produced the script, albeit two weeks before the deadline date, and the filming was completed over a particularly wet weekend (see the blog: Star Wars wrapped). The following weekend we headed over to Woking to get some help from Daz, the only real actor we/I know.
What followed was several hours voice over - and you can see the results for yourself.
The final outcome is a short film with some of the better production values that a Sharp Focus film has seen. Professional camera (thanks Julie), decent scripts and a set (thanks Steve), some lighting (for a change), cool special effects and a budget - totalled £24.50 - not much, but a first!
The outcome is pretty cheesy, but it's set the president that we can produce a higher quality with the right tools (that includes the talent too).
Things I learnt: try not to accept 'okay', accept: great.
